Emmelia is a glowing firefly right now. She's got a touch of jaundice that requires a little "sunlight" with a very obnoxious lamp. Wednesday night's sleep for Rachel was like sleeping next to a stadium lamp.

Emmelia has her first bath at home. She wasn't too psyched about being naked with water but she smells like a flower now. Meanwhile, Zander had an outstanding time swinging and going down the slide with Grandma and with Dad.

Zander hangs out with his sister, Emmelia, in the morning before he goes to daycare. Emmy and Z also spent plenty of time together when Z got home. They're getting along just awesome.

Emmelia is home now. She lost a few ounces but Mom is quickly working on feeding Em profusely. Zander is thoroughly enjoying the company of his sister and has not spared a moment to be able to give her hugs and kisses. We are definitely happy to be home in our surroundings and with our comforts of home. Rachel now commences on 13 weeks of maternity leave while Garrick enjoys paternity leave until September 2. We'll keep posting photos to show you Emmelia's growth and the happiness that she brings to our blessed home! Thanks to EVERYONE who wrote us, sent flowers, and called. Thanks, especially, for your prayers.

Emmelia entertained family today as the grandparents, aunts, and her brother visited with her today. Zander was especially glad to finally meet his sister. We'll see how he does with mom's divided attention when we go home on Sunday. Enjoy today's photos!

Emmelia Ardis Baxter was born at 2:24 PM at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She weighed in at 6 lbs 13 ounces and sized at 20 3/4 inches. Em's on the left. Zander on his birth day is on the right.

One of the great things about baby day is that Zander gets to hang out with Grandpa and Grandma. Z loves Grandpa's laugh.

Zander and Dad visited a Memorial Stadium tour on August 8. The Husker immersion is complete. Now Z needs to go to a live Husker game. The tour impressed Zander, though. He kept saying, "Huskers! Huskers!" throughout the tour to the delight of those attending the tour. Z got to do the "Tunnel Walk," got to touch the horseshoe and to "Pound the Rock."
